Q: How old should my child be for their first dentist appointment?

The ADA recommends that you bring your child to the dentist for the first time about six months after their first tooth has erupted. Most kids are between 12 and 18 months for their first appointment, if we follow the ADA recommendation.

We encourage parents to simply know your child. If they can sit on your lap and open their mouth to have their teeth counted, then they are ready for that first appointment. If your child would be upset and impossible to check, then we can wait for six months to a year. Your child will change a lot in that time, and we’ll be ready for that first check as soon as your child is! At the end of the day, we want this to be a positive experience for your little one.

Q: How much do dental implants cost?

The cost of dental implants varies from patient to patient. It is difficult to give even an estimate without first seeing your mouth and figuring out our best plan of action.

When you visit our office for a dental implant consultation, we are going to use advanced digital radiography to get a clear picture of what is currently happening in your jaw. From there, we can present a plan of action. This may include preparation for your jawbone (bone grafts, ridge augmentation, etc). We will also be looking to see if a dental implant is the best option for you.

If you’re interested in dental implants, give us a call. We can tell you a lot more about the expected cost once we see what is going on in your mouth.

Q: Can cosmetic dentistry really transform my smile?

Absolutely! When you see pictures of your favorite Hollywood actress or actor, you need to realize that cosmetic dentistry has given them their perfect smile. Very few people are born with perfect teeth, and even those people cannot keep their teeth perfectly white for their entire life!

Cosmetic dentistry can change the color, shape, and size of your teeth. We can completely transform the way your smile looks with teeth whitening, veneers, tooth bonding, and more! Just let us know that you would like a smile makeover, and we’ll help you plan for your new smile.
